Portable computers are designed to be carried around easily. Whereas once laptops offered nowhere near the power and capabilities of a desktop PC, modern laptops are packed with high-quality, powerful components.

Laptops with built-in webcams often feature facial recognition for access security.

4. Advantages

  • Lightweight and portable
  • Battery power
  • Less clutter (no cables for monitor, mouse, keyboard etc)

5. Disadvantages

  • Prone to overheating
  • Difficult to repair, replace parts, and upgrade
  • Ergonomically less ideal than a PC due to the fixed position of the touchpad & keyboard relative to the screen.
  • Size and portability make them easier to steal
