If you set this up once you can reuse ALL of your hard work next year!
This post explains how I use the Classwork tab in Microsoft Teams. This tutorial is aimed at teachers using Microsoft Teams for the first time. You do not have to use the Classwork tab at all, you could simply use the Assignments tab to manage the work you give to your students.
In this tutorial:
Required knowledge:
1. Modules
The Classwork tab is a container for Modules.
I create a Module for each Chapter in the textbook. I then add material to the appropriate Module. I also link the Modules to all Assignments as I create each task.
I usually add two additional Modules, one for information regarding assessments and another for general knowledge for my subject.

- Select the Classwork tab
- Each Module has a heading
- Expand a Module
- Resources in the Module
- Add resources to the Module
- Click on Module options to edit or delete the module
- Publish the module to make it available to your students
- Click Add Module to add the next module
Resources can be reordered by drag-and-dropping. Modules can be reordered by drag-and-dropping.
2. The really awesome part
Once you have set this up you can reuse your Modules the following year by importing them into the new year’s Class. This is where all the hard work really pays off! This year, if you are starting from scratch, you will have to create the Modules from scratch.
Next year you will simply open your new Class, activate the Classwork tab and click the Add module button and select Reuse from existing. This will allow you access to your other Classes and you will be able to select one, multiple or all modules to import into your new Class.
Modules created this way are in Draft status. Edit, update, or publish them as they are!
3. Assessment time
This organisation is incredibly handy when it comes to assessment time as your students have a central point to work from for revision and studying as all the work they did is organised and logically linked in one place.
