The MySQL Installer is a simple and intuitive utility for managing your MySQL database needs. I use it on my Dev box. After quite some time I decided it was time for an update.
Make a note (or simply take a screenshot or two) of your current product versions.
2. Update
Updating is simple and the process is supported with many confirmation messages and information as it proceeds through the steps. This is obviously a process that takes place using an Internet connection. My connection was slow at the time of this update and I received a number of warnings notifying me as such – see slide 11 below for such a warning. Despite warnings notifying me that certain elements of the updates had failed, after one or two “Wait”s the process was completed successfully.
