White space, also known as negative space, is a design term to describe part of a page or canvas which is left empty. Don’t be nervous to leave open space; do not think of it as “wasted” space, but rather as a way to create clean, modern, often minimalist designs that are impactful.

White space can be used for a variety of reasons, such as reducing clutter or emphasising an element that it surrounds.
